Call to Artists

The Arts Council of Southwest Indiana has announced a Call to Artist for their upcoming event, The Art of Autism, sponsored by St. Mary’s Center for Children and Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center from October 13-27.   The exhibit will feature artwork by individuals on the autism spectrum and will highlight their talent and creativity from childhood through adulthood.

Registration Deadline:  9/16/16

Artwork Drop-off: 10/7/16

Reception at the Arts Council: 10/13/16

Exhibit Closes: 10/27/16

Artwork Pick-up: 10/28/16


Note:  All dates work within the Gallery’s regularly scheduled hours (10am-4pm), with the exception of the reception on 10/13/16 (6:15pm to 7:30pm).



Acceptable Entries Include:


  • All media accepted.
  • Framed dimensions with frame cannot exceed 60” in any direction.
  • Submissions must be appropriately matted, framed and securely wired.
  • Artwork should be assembled and ready for hanging at the time of delivery, no exceptions.
  • All submitted art must have been completed within the last 2 years.
  • By registering, the artist agrees to the Arts Council’s Hold Harmless Policy and Sales Agreement.


Sales Agreement: All artists will have the opportunity to make their work available for sale. In the event of a sale, 65% will be dispersed to the artist and The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana will retain a 35% commission. All sold pieces will remain on display until the end of the exhibition period, at which time pickup of items that did not sell will be available. After 30 days from the pick up date, work that has not been picked up will be considered abandoned, and will be disposed of at the sole discretion of the Arts Council.


Hold Harmless Agreement: Submission of this application and the piece(s) represented, shall constitute an agreement on the part of the artist to comply with the conditions set forth in this prospectus, including the following: I hereby release and discharge The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, staff and board from any and all claims occasioned by damage or loss of art while in the possession of The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. No work accepted for the exhibition may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. Permission to reproduce the work for publicity, documentary or educational purposes is hereby granted.


  • All sales generated from The Art of Autism will be subject to the 35% commission policy, established by the Arts Council. Each artist should price their work accordingly, if the piece is for sale. If the item is not for sale, please write NFS on the entry information that will be attached to the back of the artwork.
