Autism Evansville has reserved the pool, splash pad, and game room at the Dunigan YMCA for you to enjoy if you are a parent or caregiver of someone with autism spectrum disorder. Please bring the family and join us on Saturday August 6th and August 27th from 5:30-6:30 PM for this FREE event to help you cool off and spend some time with the ones you love. We hope to see you there!
Please be aware of the following YMCA rules while your family enjoys their facility:
Upon entering the Dunigan YMCA, please stop at the front desk and sign in. Tell them you are with the Autism Evansville party.
Any child under the age of 10 in the pool MUST be supervised by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Supervision in this case means that the parent or guardian is in the pool actively supervising the child with a ratio of one parent to a maximum of 3 children.
All persons intending to swim in the deeper end must take a brief swim test administered by the on-duty guards. Non-swimmers will be given a wristband that identifies the area of the pool that they must stay.
Flotation devices will be made available by the YMCA for non-swimmers.
Swimming suits only may be worn in the pool and at the splash pad.
All adults accompanying children in the pool must wear swimming attire.
Parties are allowed only 25 kids in the pool at one time unless an additional guard was paid for in advance.
Food and drinks are allowed in the Pool Observation Hallway and the Party Room only. No food or drinks on Pool Deck.
Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and a swim suit.
Diaper changing must be done in the locker rooms or family changing rooms.
All adults accompanying children in the splash pad must wear swimming attire appropriate for a family environment.
Water shoes/crocs are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for all children on the splash pad. This will help prevent injuries during your party.
No glass articles are allowed in the splash pad area.
The Y’s core values of caring, respect, and responsibility are expected from staff, members, and guests at all times.

The Splash Pad will be closed if there is a lightning strike within 8 miles and will remain closed for half an hour from the last strike.
