Order Sensory Kits

Sensory equipment tools to bring comfort to special needs children and young adults in stressful situations.

“If my son could use these tools in an emergency situation, then other kids and adults on the spectrum could, too.”

CAMSE Kit provides sensory equipment tools, which allows first responders to bring comfort to special needs individuals in the event of an emergency.

The tools are located within other agencies as well, including airports, which can also be considered a stressful situation.

Prior to becoming joining our organization as Executive Director in 2022, Kelsey Schapker founded her own 501 © (3) nonprofit, CAMSE Kit, in the fall of 2020.

A personal start…

CAMSE is short for Cam’s Sensory Equipment, and is named in celebration of her son, Camden, who is on the spectrum. After Kelsey and Camden were nearly t-boned in a car accident, Kelsey knew that first responders would need a way to keep Camden calm while they worked the scene, had that accident occurred, because Camden was non-verbal at the time.

CAMSE Kit can currently be found in 10 agencies across southwest Indiana. Some of those agencies are:

  • Evansville Regional Airport
  • Posey County Sheriff’s Office
  • Poseyville Town Marshal
  • Evansville Police Department’s Juvenile Unit – this unit serves over 30 EVSC schools
  • Evansville Fire Department – all 17 fire trucks, three investigator vehicles, and both District Chief Command vehicles
  • Indiana State Police – troopers who patrol Posey & Vanderburgh Counties
  • Evansville Airport Safety Department located at the Evansville Regional Airport
  • Albion Fellows Bacon Center
