Chris has been a member of the Board of Directors since January 2023. He and his wife Tara have a son in elementary school and a daughter in college who is working to become an occupational therapist.
Chris has been employed with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years, where he is currently serving as Sergeant of the Educational Services Unit. In this role, he is able to support school safety at all K-12 levels as well as at USI. During his 20 years in VCSO, he has served as the president of the deputies’ organization, the chairman of their collective bargaining team, and as a physical tactics instructor. Chris has also participated in various volunteer opportunities in his role as a deputy with organizations such as the Salvation Army bell ringing and “Shop with a Cop.” Chris has also spent the past 14 years serving on the 911 Gives Hope Executive Board, where he currently serves as Vice President.
He believes his role as a public servant goes beyond just being a deputy and truly building relationships with the people he serves.
