Forever improving the lives of individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder through partnerships for support, treatments, and care.
Autism Evansville has a passion for those affected individuals and their families. Our executive director, board of directors, and other volunteers oversee and administer all programs. Through partnerships with service providers, schools, and the local community, we carry out our mission.
Autism Evansville events bring individuals and families who have autism spectrum disorder, their siblings, and parents/caregivers together in a supportive recreational environment.

Autism affects 1 in 36 children. It shouldn't be a hush-hush topic. It is important to not only be aware, but also accepting. Join us Friday, April 26th at noon for an Autism Spectrum Disorder discussion. We are so excited that our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shannon Jones, will be presenting on this very important topic! 4.25.24. See the below post from our friends at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden! 🔽
They will begin Sensory Days this Sunday, April 28.
Congratulations to the entire MPZ Staff!
They have been working hard behind the scenes to make this possible for families with sensory needs. 🤍📣Sensory Days at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden were designed to provide an inclusive experience for our friends with sensory sensitivities. Many individuals with sensory needs may not have had the opportunity to visit the zoo before, often due to large crowds, noise, or unfamiliar environments. On this special day, we will create a comfortable environment by turning off thematic music and not using power equipment, mowers, etc. In addition, we will have increased signage displaying what you might experience while walking through buildings and a special map available at the gate with icons for quiet zones, smelly areas, loud areas, etc. Additionally, we will limit the use of carts and vehicles to ensure our friends feel at ease in our surroundings. To further support guests, we will have two designated spaces for decompression if anyone feels overwhelmed.
🫶The first Sensory Day at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is scheduled for April 28th from 9am to 4pm.
*We have a limited quantity of Kulture City bags available for check-out*

4.20.24. It’s hard to put into words the phenomenal growth of Autism Evansville Fundraiser: Taking Steps For Autism Walk & 5K, presented by Tools 4 Teaching, LLC, Liberty Federal Credit Union, & 14 NEWS.
It’s a day full of love & support for families in the tri-state who are raising a family member on the spectrum.
We had a record number of participants this year.. **706**!! Walking with your families during the family walk and ‘taking steps’ is therapeutic.
We love seeing it all come together after six months of planning behind the scenes. 💕
This incredible event wouldn’t be possible without YOU - our families that we have the opportunity to serve. Thank you for spending your Saturday with us!!
There are so many amazing people to thank, from volunteers to characters, and sponsors & vendors!
***We also especially want to thank the first responders on site for providing security and keeping everyone safe: Evansvilles Finest LLC., Law Enforcement Services, Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, & Scott Township Fire & EMS.
With our participants, 20+ vendors, volunteers, characters, and two dozen first responders, we easily hosted 800 people on site, if not more.
Here’s a few photos until Rayn Miller Photography has the opportunity to edit hers.
Thank you all for an incredible day!!
We love supporting you and your family! 🥰
